• Under certain circumstances, scholars who cannot attend the ceremony may retain the award provided that a letter of explanation is submitted to the NHLC Scholarship Committee no later than Thursday, March 12, 2009..

• The ceremony will take place Saturday, March 28, 2009. Selected scholars will be able to invite family members and close friends to the ceremony.

• All awards must be requested thru the Financial Assistance Office of the College or University for the account of the scholar awarded the scholarship. It is the responsibility of the scholar to make all arrangement for the transfer of funds no later than September 26th, 2008. Scholars who fail to make arrangements for the transfer of funds by this deadline will forfeit the award.

The Northern Hispanic Latino Coalition Scholarship Committee offers funds to assist High School students who continue their schooling by enrolling in a higher education institution pursuing a baccalaureate degree in science, social or liberal arts.

Selected scholars will be invited to an acceptance ceremony..

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be Hispanic or of Hispanic background

• Must be studying full-time in any school district of Shasta County.

• Must have a minimum GPA of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
